Your Team

Our leadership team has over 50 years of publishing experience.

David Welday – President & Chief Development Officer

Dave’s rich and diverse publishing background fuels the vision at HigherLife. In 1978, he began his career with a boutique publishing house outside Chicago. From there, he ventured into magazine marketing and created strategies that propelled the publications he served to record circulation growth. In 1981, he moved to Florida to join a fledgling media company. During his 20-year tenure, Dave served as publisher of the curriculum division, publisher of the book publishing division, director of marketing and circulation, and vice president of product development, acting as a strategic catalyst for growth at every post. Dave was president of the Florida Magazine Association and serves on the board of directors for numerous respected organizations. He founded HigherLife in 2005, in part to serve a broader variety of authors, speakers, and organizations. Dave is the father of three sons and offers parenting guidance through a non-profit organization he founded called Next Generation Institute.

C. Hope Flinchbaugh – Literary Agent & Senior Editor

Hope’s desire to get the message out can be clearly seen in each aspect of her life. She’s an author, literary agent, and homeschooling mom from Pennsylvania. Her four novels, three of which are based on true testimonies of religious persecution and revival in China and one of which is based on factual stories of starving North Korean citizens desperately seeking food and freedom, reveal the depth of her passion for those whose stories need to be told. Hope also authored Spiritually Parenting Your Preschooler, a nonfiction book with parenting tips and ideas about today’s school choices. She is a contributor to the Soul Matter series and Our Heart to Yours, a book of teachings from such gifted authors as Lisa Bevere, Heidi Baker, Babbie Mason, and Joyce Meyer. Hope’s home is full of laughter and surprises as she and her family recently welcomed two new daughters from Burma. These beautiful girls fled Burma over one year ago and have a favorite American saying: “Give me liberty, or give me death.”
